Joules Signs Up for Custom House

The final phase of the £4.1m remarkable and extensive transformation of 18,000 square feet of Custom House has been completed. This brings the popular landmark fully into productive use, creating jobs and ensuring that the Custom House has a new-found status as a vibrant link between Greenock's illustrious heritage and its ambitious growth plans for the future.

The investment in Custom House has already proven to be very successful to date and Riverside Inverclyde is delighted to announce that international fashion and lifestyle brand Joules will become the newest tenant at Custom House, joining Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, PG Paper and IL Media at the stunning Inverclyde premises.

Established in Britain by Tom Joule nearly three decades ago, Joules is a premium lifestyle brand with an authentic heritage.

A true multi-channel lifestyle brand, Joules carefully designs clothing, footwear and accessories for women, men and children, as well as an expanding range of homewares, toiletries and eyewear collections, with personality to match those of its customers' colourful and uplifting outlooks, available through its own retail stores, online, rural shows and events and wholesale channels.

Quality, Britishness, family values, colour and humour make Joules stand out from the crowd. This approach, along with an unwavering attention to detail, and drive to surprise and delight its customers with unexpected product details, has been central to the brand's success and expansion and remains at the heart of everything Joules creates.

Since 2000, Joules has opened flagship stores in Norwich, Cheltenham and York as well as in market towns and coastal holiday destinations throughout Great Britain such as St. Ives, Southwold, Burnham Market and Salcombe. The high street brand is also stocked in leading UK department stores, including John Lewis, House of Fraser and Fenwick. Following great success in the UK, Joules is attracting an ever-increasing international audience, through the development of wholesale accounts in North America and Germany supported by dedicated websites for each market.

Joules will occupy 1,578 sq ft of the Custom House on a short-term lease, to take the total occupied floor space to 9,147 sq ft. With the increased market demand, Riverside Inverclyde has turned its attention to filling the remaining 4,649 sq ft, with the newly refurbished Long Room and supporting suites.
